Hydro Dipping

Custom Finishes for Your Car's Interior and Exterior

Your car’s interior and exterior components can start looking ordinary or dated over time. Replacing these parts is not always necessary when you want to give them a different appearance.

Hydro Dipping, also known as water transfer printing, allows detailed patterns and finishes to be applied to suitable three-dimensional car components. From carbon fibre and forged carbon effects to wood grain and other designs, the process can change the appearance of selected parts while retaining their original shape.

At Autobell Car Detailing Studio, each component is properly prepared before the hydro dipping process, followed by a clear coat to achieve the desired finish and provide protection to the printed surface.

Why Hydro Dipping?

Traditional painting can provide a solid colour, while hydro dipping allows detailed patterns to follow the contours of a component.

Hydro Dipping helps:

Our Process

Proper preparation and finishing are important for achieving an even and durable hydro dipped surface. Our process includes:

Component Inspection

We inspect the part to assess its material, condition, shape, and suitability for hydro dipping.

Surface Preparation

The component is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the process. Depending on its condition and material, preparation may include sanding and priming.

Base Coat Application

A suitable base coat is applied to the prepared component. The base colour can influence the final appearance of the selected hydrographic pattern.

Hydro Dipping

The selected film is placed on a water surface and activated before the prepared component is carefully passed through it. The pattern transfers onto the component and follows its contours.

Rinsing & Drying

After the pattern has been transferred, the component is carefully rinsed to remove residual film material and allowed to dry properly.

Clear Coat & Final Inspection

A clear coat is applied over the printed surface to protect the finish and achieve the selected gloss or matte appearance. Each component is then inspected before installation.

A Different Finish for Existing Components

Hydro Dipping gives you the option to change the appearance of existing components without replacing their original shape and design.

At Autobell Car Detailing Studio, the process begins with selecting suitable components and a finish that works with the overall design of the vehicle. Careful preparation, film application, and clear coat finishing help create a consistent result across the customised parts.
